A man, dressed as a U. S. Postal Service employee opened fire on two Chicago residents Thursday, police say.
A man, dressed as a U. S. Postal Service worker is being sought by police Friday after opening fire on two Chicago residents during a bogus package delivery.
Investigators say the shooter knocked on the door of a house in the city on the other side of the neighborhood Thursday afternoon for the shooting of the 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman who opened it.
Friday, “detectives investigate if this was a real postal worker, or someone posing as one to gain access to the victims,” Chicago police spokeswoman Jessica Rocco said to NBC News.
Police say the man claimed he had a package to deliver to the male victim, who is currently in a serious condition after suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, according to the WLS. The woman is reportedly in stable condition.
The officials of the U. S. Postal Inspection Service also help in the research.
