An 11-year-old Chicago boy who was in serious condition at a hospital Friday after being shot in the neck by a 7-year-old sister, according to reports.

The incident happened at around 8:20 p.m. in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the city’s West side, FOX 32 Chicago reported.

Police were called to the shooting an accident, but the details of how the child gained access to the weapon, were not disclosed.

Or, the other adults were in the home at the time, it was also not clear.

The shooting occurred in an apartment building, where police cars were seen shortly after the gunfire, FOX 32 reported.
