Krankland is the new musical project of Thomas Werbrouck, known by Little Trouble Kids. The debut album ‘Wanderrooms’ comes at the end of september.
‘Last year, I was on a time at night in the car. Pitch-dark. No one on the job. I began what for me to sing and at home I have some chords under pasted. I knew immediately: this is a new project, told the guitarist-singer Thomas Werbrouck in the spring at Knack Focus.
Werbrouck, known for Little Trouble Kids, stomped Krankland out of the ground and allowed himself to be surrounded by Janko Beckers (Golden Tieger), Christophe Claeys (Amatorski, Magnus) and Thomas Mortier (Yuko). The band name stands for ‘a trip through the dark, gloomy atmospheres, on the klankrand.’ Their sound: a experiment.
On the 30th of september is the début album ‘Wanderrooms’ in the racks. In ten multi-layered and multi-faceted songs explains Werbrouck singer songwriter-wise, his soul exposed, but with an individual touch. “I wanted it all again, in one groepstake record. Was the magic there, then we came there no more. Errors we have not, therefore, removed, ” he says.
And before they went to Studio Jesus of Pascal Deweze, who we know of more Broken Glass Heroes and Metal Molly. “He was in my philosophy,” says Werbrouck.
A first taste of that you could hear on Record Store Day, when In the Realms of the Unreal’ was launched. This is the new single from the debut album: ‘Summer Avalanche’. (DB)
