Chairman of the football association of Sierra Leone arrested
The chairman of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Isha Johansen, was on Wednesday arrested. In addition to the arrest of Johansen are two senior members of the SLFA arrested.
That confirmed the head of the anti-corruptiecommissie in Sierra Leone Ady Macauley.
Macauley sent the arrest warrant because of the lack of answers to repeated requests of the anti-corruption unit to financial openness. The commission is conducting an inquiry into the financial affairs at the football association of Sierra Leone.
Macauley reported that the research related to the grants of the wereldvoetbalbond FIFA. He wanted no further details about the ongoing investigation.
