Chad Michael Murray has responded to his ex-wife with the comment about feeling pressured to marry her former “One Tree Hill” co-star in 2005.
Chad Michael Murray is breaking his silence about his ex-wife Sophia Bush recent comments about their marriage.
During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s “Radio Andy,” Bush declared that marry Murray, her former “One Tree Hill” co-star “was not a thing that I actually really wanted to do.” The two were married in 2005 and separated five months later, finalizing their divorce in 2006.
“Everyone is already 22 and stupid,” the 35-year-old actress told host Andy Cohen earlier this week. “It was not what I really wanted to do. Ladies learn how to take up space in a way that men are taught they are entitled to!”
When you hear Bush’s remarks, the 36-year-old actor’s rep released a report, calling the comments “ridiculous.”
“Chad behaves in a completely professional way, and would never marry for any reason but love,” Murray’s rep told People. “Thirteen years since his separation from Sophia, he has a very happy family life with his wife and children. He has completely moved on and doesn’t feel the need to go in this kind of behavior.”
Murray, a father of two, is now married to Sarah Roemer.
Sophia Bush Says that She is not ‘Really Want’ to Marry Chad Michael Murray
During her interview with Cohen, Bush further opened up about why she felt pressured to stay in a relationship with her “One Tree Hill” co-star. “Because how do you let anyone?” she said. “If your bosses tell you that you are the only person that gets a person to complete the job on time, and 200 people get to see their children in the night or they don’t, because our days start on time.”
ET has reached Murray and Bush’s reps for comment.
The “Incredibles 2” star also revealed that the behind-the-scenes drama in “One Tree Hill” was often more dramatic than the scripted stuff.
“Life is always loaded,” she recalled. “What the public knows, never ever — it is not the tip of the iceberg. [OTH co-star] and Hilarie [Burton] and I used to laugh and we were like: ‘If we have a behind-the-scenes show, the drama would be so much f**king better than the drama that the writers write.'”
Sophia Bush Gets Real About the Chances Of a ‘One Tree Hill’ Revival (Exclusive)
It’s been more than six years ago that “One Tree Hill” aired it’s last episode, but Bush recently opened up to ET about if there is a chance for a revival.
“People say that for a long time, and I really don’t know. I have no intel for anyone,” she confessed. “I feel bad when people say, ‘Oh, it can happen”, and then the internet explodes and I’m like, ‘Guys, it’s not happening.’ If something happens what they would say. But I think that, with everyone on different jobs and shows, and with children and lives, I don’t know. Never say never, I guess.”
