Celine Dion announced on Wednesday she is to cancel her Las Vegas shows to undergo a surgical procedure for an ear condition.
The 49-year-old singer said in a Facebook post she has been dealing with an ear condition called Patulous Eustachian tube. The condition is caused by the hearing of irregularities that they said his influence on her singing.
Dion has been dealing with the condition for 12 to 18 months and treat it with different ear drop medications. However, the medication has recently stopped working, she wrote.
“During the past few weeks are these drugs no longer work to treat the condition, so that they undergo a minimally invasive surgical procedure to correct the problem,” the post read.
“My happiness is still not very well lately… I’ve been so looking forward to my shows again and this happens… I just can’t believe it! I apologize to everyone who were planning to travel to Las Vegas to see my show. I know how disappointing this is, and I’m so sorry,” Dion said.
Dion is expected to resume shows at Caesars Palace’s The Colosseum on May 22. Tickets for the cancelled events will be refunded.
This is not the first time that The Grammy-winning singer had to cancel shows due to health problems. Dion was forced to nix seven concerts in January by blockage or irritation of the vocal cords. The shows were expected to resume on 27 March for her latest health problems were announced.
