The international sporttribunaal CAS does no later than march 26, ruling on the appeal that athlete Caster Semenya has brought against a decision of the international athletics federation IAAF.
The South African Semenya, who have naturally high testosterone levels, the IAAF medication to the values of that hormone to decrease. If not, she may, according to a new rule in the games no longer come with the women.
The two-time olympic and three-time world champion on the 800 metres went to the CAS. That called the hearing, which last week spread over five days took place, “one of the most crucial things” in its history, with potentially far-reaching consequences for the athletics and the sport in general.
The member panel spoke last week with all parties involved, with Semenya as the last. “There is the whole week in a respectful way with each other spoken of”, says CAS.
The South African refuses the command of the athletics federation the necessary pills to swallow. “I want to be purely nature, as I am born”, as she already know.
The new rule about DSD (Differences of Sexual Development) is only for the medium distances (400 meters, 800 meters and 1,500 meters) and the hurdles. The IAAF has always denied that the rule specifically against Semenya is addressed.
