Comedy legend Carol Burnett has opened up about her role in “Mad About you” reboot”.
The 86-year-old actress has reprised her role as Theresa Stemple, the mother of Helen Hunt’s character. In 1997, she won an Emmy for the role.
Burnett revealed that the filming of the show, it was a little more difficult than I expected.

“Unfortunately, I’ve had a terrible cold. On the day we did the first read-through, I didn’t have a voice,” she reminded him. “But then I had to take a day off, so at least I got my voice back. We have [the tape] on a Friday, and the cold was knocking me out, but you know what? The show must go on. Joanna Kerns, the director, was aware of the way I felt. I just wanted to be straight, so I was worried, but she hugged me, and I will always be grateful for that.”
In spite of the original show, which ended in 1999, Burnett pointed out that there is not a lot of change for the show’s stars, Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser.

“Paul and Helen, they’re just upside-down. It is as if they are married,” said Burnett. “They obviously love each other and admire each other’s work, and you can’t even figure that they are doing things. Sometimes, Paul would have something to say, and I thought to myself that this was Paul talking to me, but it was a sign. He is right of course. She couldn’t be sweeter.”

“Mad About you” follows the life of a married couple living in New York, which ran from 1992 to 1999. In the reboot, which is available to stream through the Spectrum, to see the house, and Reiser is back and is adding Cloris Leachman to the cast.
