The Carnival Corporation said Monday that it plans to investigate “all aspects” of a large-scale brawl that broke out on a recent cruise, “including the security response,” according to Reuters.

Carnival had previously indicated that the launch of a full investigation into the incident, which took place in the early hours of Feb. 16 in the vicinity of the tail of the Legend’s 10-day trip from Melbourne, Australia. In the images of the argument, shared by 3AW later in the day, dozens of passengers and staff could be seen punching, kicking and wrestling in what seemed to be a violent altercation near the ship’s nightclub.

A witness later described the battle as a “massacre”, while another said that the rest of the crew, the guests were “really scared for [their] safety.”

As a result of the fierce fighting, the police unloaded 23 members of a large family from the Legend in Eden, New South Wales, on Friday afternoon.

“I will not be travelling Carnival ever again as a 25 percent discount on a future cruise, in my eyes, is unacceptable,” passenger Mark Morrison told the Associated Press.

Other guests had also claimed that the family had been harassing the staff and the guests of “the minutes they got on the ship,” and had even threatened to stab or to throw people overboard.

“[It was] very violent, they were full-on attacks,” said the passenger, Lisa Bolitho, which is described in the unruly passengers of the same “big Italian family.”

Bothilo claimed she had the captain of the ship about the problem, but quoted him as saying: “What do you want me to do, throw them overboard?”
