Captain Van den Berg wants to be with Orange ‘a great feast’ making of EK

Mandy van den Berg feels one week before the start of the european CHAMPIONSHIPS in their own country, no pressure, but rather positive voltage. The captain thinks that the Oranjevrouwen a great tournament in their march.

“I feel no pressure, because I everyone wants to show how well we can play football. We are already looking as long as forward to the european CHAMPIONSHIPS. It is really counting down,” says Van den Berg for the camera of NUsport.

The 26-year-old Van den Berg, who is under contract is at the English Reading, is convinced of the qualities of Orange, that two years ago at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS in Canada was eliminated in the eighth finals. “I do not doubt our qualities. If we show what we have in our mars, it is a very nice CHAMPIONSHIP.”

Orange and Van den Berg should immediately stand, because in the first contest, wait for next Sunday in Utrecht Norway and that is the toughest opponent in the group. “Norway, we aren’t going to overflow, just as we did with Wales have done. I expect a spirited contest, at the top level of women’s football. The quantity must be immediately sharp.”

On the basis of the FIFA-ranking is Norway with the eleventh place something better than the Netherlands, that twelfth.

“Norway is doing for years in the top”, says Van den Berg. “It’s a team with great individual quality, ability to walk, and they are physically strong. We need not go into that physical game and understand ball later. Just nice to play football and that we can. The feeling is good. I can’t wait until the CHAMPIONSHIP starts.”

The match between Netherlands and Norway starts Sunday July 16, at 18.00 o’clock in the Galgenwaard stadium. Four days later plays Orange on The Castle against Denmark, and then the group stage on July 24 in the Willem II Stadium is closed against Belgium.
