Captain Johannes Tysse, he said, the crew found it necessary to have 700 or so passengers to get a taste of the not-so-upscale, local fare, of Greggs, because it is the focus of a 10-day cruise, it was the cultural and culinary delights of the North of Europe.
“As our UK crew explained to us that a visit to Newcastle wouldn’t be complete without a taste of Greggs as a “must” for European travelers, it’s the levels of British food icons, in addition to the Fish ‘ n ‘ Chips, Afternoon Tea and a Sunday Roast,” said the Captain Tysse, who placed the order.
Among the offerings were sausage rolls (sausage wrapped in puff pastry), vegan sausage rolls and stottie cake, a round loaf of bread served often in the north East of England.

According to Captain Tysse, the passengers were pretty psyched about the time of delivery, as well.
“We were all very impressed, and even had a slogan,” he said of the crew of the endeavour.

Fortunately, for those who are not super enthusiastic about the store-bought baked goods, and Azamara Cruises is proud of its culinary offerings and its “Destination Immersion” program, which focuses on the cuisine of the destinations on the ship’s menu.
The Azamara Journey’s 10-day tour through the North of Europe, and is scheduled to make stops in Leith-Edinburgh, Scotland; Amsterdam, the netherlands; Antwerp or Bruges, Belgium; and Southampton, united kingdom.
