Cancer is the leading cause of death in high-income countries, in particular by reducing the number of deaths due to heart disease is greatly decreased. This is evident from studies in the scientific journal The Lancet on Tuesday has been published.
In countries with a high average income and die in 2017, two times as a lot of people to cancer, to heart disease, the researchers conclude.
The scientists from 21 countries, spread across five continents, research has been done to the leading causes of death among middle-aged adults.
Globally, heart disease is still the number one cause of death and accounts for more than 40 per cent of the deaths. By 2017 died, another 17.7 million people, a heart attack, heart failure, or congestive heart failure.
Patients in high-income countries, according to the authors, better access to blood pressure and cholesterol-lowering drugs, reducing the number of deaths due to heart disease is dramatically reduced. In high-income countries, on average, substantially more of those with heart disease admitted to a hospital.
