A California woman was arrested after she allegedly two babies — a 9-month-old baby and a 1-year-old in a hot car, while they were looking for a Walmart in Ontario.
Crystal Gonzales, 34, was Sunday arrested after a security guard saw a group of people gathered around a white SUV in the shop in the parking lot.
The two children, who are not known, were reportedly “in crisis due to the high temperatures,” Ontario police Detective Melissa Ramirez told the San Bernardino Sun. The temperatures Sunday reached nearly 100 degrees.

The guard, who has yet to be named, called the Ontario Police Department. Another witness of the incident.
“The AC was not on, the windows were a bit cracked, but the car was off and the doors were locked,” Ontario police Detective Melissa Ramirez told the publication, adding that the authorities think Gonzales, who told the police that the children’s mother was shopping in the Walmart for about a half hour before returning to the car.
Gonzales allegedly told the police that both children were asleep when she arrived at the store and wanted to not be awake before they go inside, FOX17 reported.
“Both children were medically assessed on the scene, but ultimately does not have to be transported to a hospital,” Ramirez said.

Police arrested Gonzales and local Child Protective Services took the two children, according to the San Bernardino Sun.
Gonzales, who is facing a child endangering charges, according to FOX17, was released after she posted $ 100,000 bail.
