The Us state of California will get a law that entertainmentwebsites if IMDb is forcing the age of the actors, if that is requested.
That reports The Hollywood Reporter. The law applies to websites that are used by the film industry, among other things, be used to the actors to choose, and has as a goal ageism fight.
“On behalf of everyone in the industry, which struggled with ageism, whose chances to show their talent, are blocked, I want governor Brown to thank,” says Gabrielle Carteris of the acteursvakbond SAG-Aftra, which is about 160,000 actors represents.
Only paying members of IMDb can submit a request. The law is January 1, 2017.
