California GOP Congressman Darrell Issa wins a tight seat

SAN DIEGO is The richest member of Congress, to keep his job.

The Republicans Darrell Issa defeated almost Marine-turned-lawyer Doug Applegate, who, after a bitter dispute in the 49th District just North of San Diego.

“We were all said amazed, including Applegate,” Busby. “He barely had a campaign. It is only difficult for you in a area where people do not see a viable race.”

A decade ago, Republicans had a 20-point registration advantage held over the Democrats in the seaside town district, which includes rich sea enclaves to the North of San Diego, but also the densely Packed, diverse suburban communities. The double-digit margin shrank to the single digits, while the number of self-employed rose by 60 percent in that time.

Issa, the former Chairman of the House Oversight and government Reform Committee, had rolled to re-election seven times. The assets of car alarm production has been estimated at more than $250 million.
