California fertility doctor charged with the murder of a woman in 2016’s death, report says

A California fertility doctor was charged with murder Friday in the killing of his wife more than two years ago, a report said.

Eric Scott Sills, 54, was on Thursday arrested in connection with the Nov. 13, 2016, the death of his 45-year-old woman, Susann Stephanie Arsuaga Sills, the Orange County Register reported, citing jail records. Sills was held on $ 1 million bail.

A number of details in the case remained unclear, including the woman the cause of the death, a motive for the murder and what led to the doctor’s arrest last week.

Sills is the medical director of the Center for Advanced Genetics fertility clinic in Carlsbad, according to the Register. His wife was the center is the managing partner and co-founder. They were the parents of the twins.

Holder of a doctorate from London’s University of Westminster and a medical degree from the University of Tennessee, Sills practiced in-vitro fertilization in Europe and the USA, the design of books on the subject, the paper reported, quoting an online biography. He was also part of a team that discovered three previously unknown human gene mutations.
