A California man has been arrested on suspicion of the deliberate and the deaths of two of the wild peacocks in the north-west of Los Angeles last month, police said.
Floyd Belton, 61, turned himself in Tuesday and is facing two counts of cruelty to animals, KABC-TV reported, citing the L. A. County sheriff’s Lost Hills station, as well as its source.
A suspect wanted in the affected vehicles, as well as the killing of the peacocks, last month, has set in, and the police have to say.
The police began searching for the suspect after the surveillance footage surfaced. The incident wasn’t captured with a camera, but a witness told police they saw the driver hit a bird a few minutes later, at the train station.

The residents of Chatsworth Lake Manor, a community about 45 kilometres north-north-west of the city of Los Angeles, alleging that the driver of a silver pick-up truck and intentionally hit the bird on the way.

Belton was held on $ 80,000 bail, according to the report. It was unclear whether or not he has an attorney.
