Correctional officers in the New York City jail case, Jeffrey Epstein did not have it on him in the hours before his apparent suicide on Saturday, after his cell mate was moved for reasons that are not immediately clear, according to a new report.
Epstein, 66, was found unconscious in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, and later pronounced dead — the questions arise as to the manner in which the rich, the financier, is caught in the human trafficking charges, it would have been in a position to have to kill himself, and in a high-security facility, with just over two weeks after being placed on suicide watch.

For a “few” hours before his death, the prison guards had failed to check in with the Epstein — despite the fact that it was necessary for him to go to the 20 minutes or so, The Washington Post reported.

In addition, Epstein was supposed to have a cellmate. However, the person who is assigned to share a cell with Epstein, was transferred on Friday to a 66-year-old’s death, according to the Post. It was not immediately clear why the cellmate has been transferred, or as to why no one else had been assigned to a room with Epstein.
Epstein has been placed on suicide watch in July and was given a psychiatric evaluation after he was found with a bruise on the back of his neck, but it was taken off a suicide at the end of July.
Barbara Sampson, of New York City’s chief medical examiner said Sunday that an autopsy has been conducted on Epstein, but more information is needed before a cause of death has been determined.

The lender was located in the same building as the Special housing unit, in a secure part of the Manhattan facility, which separates a high-profile inmates from the general population. Prison guards in the prison had reportedly been working extreme overtime shifts-days to compensate for staff shortages.
Attorney General William Barr said he was “shocked” to learn of Epstein’s death, and it was announced that the FBI and the us Department of Justice, the inspector general of the office of the to investigate the apparent death by suicide.

Epstein was to be held on child sex-trafficking and conspiracy charges after he was denied bail. Prosecutors said that he was sexually abusing dozens of young girls in New York and Florida homes from 2002 to 2005, during which Epstein pleaded not guilty.
He was given up to 45 years in prison.
