Bussemaker gives eight tons for digitisation of film heritage
The EYE Filmmuseum in Amsterdam to get this years of cultuurminister Jet Bussemaker to eight tonnes, for the digitization of film heritage. The money is also intended to manage and maintain access to such material.
From 2017 invests the bewindsvrouw here, even an annual one million euro. That, she said Friday at the opening of the EYE Collectiecentrum in Amsterdam.
“The EYE offers a unique combination of conservation and participation, preservation, and exhibiting, of collecting and revitalize. I think it’s important that EYE this also in the future can continue to do,” says Bussemaker.
“That future will also be for the movie to be largely digital. And that is why I suggest this year and the years after 2017 extra money available to the film heritage in the digital era, maintainable, usable, and visible.”
