Brussels let roaminglimiet of 90 days fall

The European Commission has proposed maximum number of days abroad the free used the internet or a call may be dropped.

That makes vice-president Andrus Ansip (Digital Single Market) of the European Commission on Wednesday known.

There is, however, a so-called ‘fair use policy’, that abuse must be prevented. Telecom companies are given the possibility to intervene when abuse is detected, such as when there is almost only abroad, use is made of mobile internet. Exact details are not yet clear.

The roaming charges within the European Union, on 15 June 2017 abolished. According to the original proposal, that beginning this month, the public was made, there was a maximum number of days of 90. After a lot of negative responses, drew president of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker that proposal again.

The conceptdocument is first discussed with the European watchdogs for electronic communications (BEREC), member states and other parties.
