ITHACA, n.y. – A Cornell University fraternity chapter that a sex game that the members on the Pig Roast in reference to the weight of the women they slept with are placed on a probationary period of two years.
The university said officials launched an investigation of the Zeta Beta Tau brotherhood last year after reports about the secret game, in which new members can get points by having sex with women. The research concluded last month.
In the case of a tie in the match, the victory goes to the player who had sex with a heavier woman. The new members were told not to the knowledge of the women about the contest.
Cornell’s fraternity and sorority review board, in particular in the chapter was in violation of the policy against hazing and sexual abuse.
The brotherhood said that the allegations were contrary to the values and mission and that in the chapter leadership and fraternity in general, “shocked and stunned” about the non-accredited activities.
“The Kappa Chapter of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity is shocked at the idea of the degradation and/or objectification of women, and the impact it has had on men and women in the United States and to Cornell,” the brotherhood said in a statement.
The brotherhood said that it will conduct a membership review in collaboration with the international headquarters and expel any members found to be committed to the brotherhood ideals and values. He said the hosting of multiple educational programs on healthy relationships.
The university in Ithaca, said the brotherhood will be required to hire a live-in advisor in the two year period of probation, be subjected to external reviews and participate in ongoing education about sexual violence.
