British actor John Hurt died

The British actor John Hurt, known for his roles in “The Elephant Man” and “Alien”, is at the age of 77 years died from the effects of pancreatic cancer, British media on Saturday published.


The actor, who Mr. Ollivander played in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”, also played second officer Kane in “Alien” and the lead role in “1984”. He was twice nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in “Midnight Express” (1978) on the part of William Hayes, an American tourist in a Turkish prison, caught, and two years later for his starring role in “The Elephant Man”. For his performance in “Midnight Express”, he was honoured at the Bafta Awards, the annual British film and televisieprijzen, and he won the Golden Globe for best supporting actor.
