Boy Scout of Texas killed by a falling tree in the Georgia camp, officials say

Authorities investigate after a 14-year-old Boy Scout was killed by a falling tree on camp Monday evening.

The authorities say that a Scout was killed by a falling tree on Monday in the afternoon as powerful storms rolled through the Northern part of Georgia.

It happened on the Bert Adams Scout Camp, located about eight miles south of Covington.

The CEO of the Atlanta Council said that it was a weather-related incident.

The circumstances of the fatal tree fall have not yet been released.

Officials said the Boy Scout was from Texas.
