Boxing is most likely in 2020 yet on the olympic program during the Games in Tokyo. In november the sport because of abuses in the global boksbond AIBA provisionally of the agenda be deleted, but the expectation is that that is undone.

The day to day management of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the IOC-congress, from 24 to 26 June in Lausanne is held, a proposal to boxing olympic.

The problems at the AIBA last for years. In the areas of governance, finance and anti-doping, the bond, the business is not in order and that was in november 2018 still the case, as appeared from a report.

That those problems are not likely to have the effect of boxing the olympic status to lose, is good news for Nouchka Fontijn. The 31-year-old Dutch has, for years, as one of the figureheads of the sport and the way to Tokyo now seems to be again open to her.
