Rajinikanth plays a gangster who is looking for revenge. The film allows for such a massive euphoria that people leave get to him. Kabali to win the openingsrecord on Friday with a yield of 65 crore rupees (almost 9 million) in ticket sales. Even before the movie came out, the makers were already more than 200 crore rupees (27 million euro) within the presale. The print itself was made on a budget of 170 crore rupees (€25.5 million).
