The acting FAA administrator is expected to face tough questions about why choose Boeing employees received the right to certify their own aircraft; Doug McKelway reports from Washington.
Boeing said Thursday it has completed a software fix on the besieged 737 MAX 8 model, and is pending approval, and requests for additional information from the FAA, according to a statement. The company added that he flew the new software for the 360 flight hours.
The AMERICAN aircraft manufacturer, is the establishment of the aircraft flight control system, which reportedly sometimes forces the plane repeatedly in a dive, which allegedly caused two deadly accidents in the past seven months.

The MAX 8’s flight system came under scrutiny in March, when an Ethiopian Airlines flight crashed, killing all 157 aboard. It was the second 737-MAX jet crash in less than six months; A Lion Air jet crashed, killing 189, in Indonesia in October last year.

Boeing reportedly realized the cockpit problem a year before the Lion Air crash, according to anonymous industry and government, and the company was not upfront about the problem until weeks after the Ethiopian Airlines crash, officials reportedly said.
The aircraft model was grounded in many countries all over the world, after the Ethiopian Airlines crash, including in the U.S. – despite Boeing’s focus on the airworthiness of the jet.
BOEING KNEW ABOUT THE SAFETY-ALERT ISSUE FOR A YEAR FOR TELLING THE FAA, AIRLINES
The software fix has taken longer than planned, the Seattle Times reported. After the Lion Air crash last fall, Boeing expects it can solve the problem in six weeks. The Ethiopian Airlines crash have happened in the meantime.
Boeing will also be necessary for the planning of a test flight for the Federal Aviation Administration approval. “This process requires, as long as it takes to ensure that the aircraft is safe and returned to service,” says a spokesperson from the FAA said.

This week, Southwest Airlines, which has 34 MAX 8’s, said that it was not sure when the plane would be back in business. Ethiopian Airlines said that it would probably not fly the MAX 8.
