A body-positivity blogger from Finland, is at the foundation of the myth of the “perfect” Instagram photo.
Sarah Puhto, 23, is looking to have fun on social media, is impossible without error, by default, in a series of Instagram photos, which they began to do so as early as 2018.
In a side-by-side image, and Puhto, let’s see what’s considered to be the “perfect” Instagram snap, compared to what she looks like in real life.
On the left side, and her posing is perfect, with a small, sleek and modelesque angle, accentuating its beauty — the stomach sucked in, butt stuck out. On the right-hand side, however, and Puhto, stand up straight, with her head towards the sky as she smiles and leaves to her abdomen, to poke, of course.

“In the pictures that I have to constantly suck in my stomach, or are trying to hide and keep out of my prey as much as possible. But why is that?,” she captioned the photo.
“We are constantly flooded with pictures of ‘perfection’ on social media sites and see the ads about how to get your body to fit a certain ideal body proportions.”
Rather than striving for perfection, she is encouraged by her 319,000 followers have to learn to accept the skin she’s in.
“We are continually trying to change our bodies, but why don’t we focus on changing the way we look at our bodies,” Puhto about them. “Don’t focus on the negativity and focus on accepting and loving what you dislike about yourself. You can have this body, and enables you to live the life.”
“We all need to allow ourselves to live life to the fullest, without the fear of judgment about our bodies, either by ourselves or by others,” she added.
Puhto’s followers praised her for the exposure of social media and the dangerous beauty of one of the standards, as well as having the courage to be her true self.
“You’re beautiful, and amazing. You should be very proud of the message that you are sending to, and on changing unhealthy ideals,” one Instagram user commented.
