Bob Seger makes song for Glenn Frey
Singer Bob Seger has a tribute recorded for his deceased friend Glenn Frey of The Eagles. Glenn Song, as the song is called, is free to download on the website of Bob.
It is a year ago that Glenn Frey died. Seger and Frey were nearly fifty years of friends. They met in 1966. Frey scored hits with The Eagles and Seger with his Silver Bullet Band. Against The Wind and Still The Same, are two of his best known hits from the seventies.
Glenn Song was recorded in Nashville. Against RollingStone says Seger that it was a spontaneous idea. “It is also not the intention that it becomes a hit,” he says. “It’s just a tribute in which I tell the story of how we first met in 1966.”
Seger: “I told the drummer that he ‘m quite should hit, because that is the way I’m Glenn, remember.” According to the singer was the number there in one or two takes to perfect.
