Bob fire: Blaze that destroyed the oldest continuously-operating South Carolina bar deemed suspicious

SUNSET, SC – The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said the oldest, continuously-operating bar in South Carolina has burned.

Bob’s Place is located in 1490 Moorefield Memorial Highway in Sunset burned on Saturday night, shortly before midnight.

On Monday, deputies said the fire appears to be suspicious and a number of persons have questioned about the incident.

There was no one at the time and no injuries reported.

Sacred Springs Fire department was the primary responding agency, while Vineyards and Pumpkintown fire department responded to the scene as mutual aid.
