Blind: “There are not many teams that we really may be’

Daley Blind will find that Ajax halfway through the season in good shape. The experienced defender is confident that the Amsterdammers after the winter break, the backlog of two points to be able to make up on leader PSV.

“We have it in our own hands. There is nothing to worry about. There are still so many matches to play. We must put on ourselves to focus and not too much looking at them. That will be the PSV’ers are also calling”, said the Blind Sunday after sporting won 1-3 uitduel with FC Utrecht.

“This match saw I don’t really like a test. I think everyone can see that we are doing a good job. We need ourselves not to prove. But it is very nice that we the year in this way have ended. This is nice.”

Ajax confirmed the dominant action in the Galgenwaard Stadium yet again the huge krachtsverschil between them, PSV and to a lesser extent, Feyenoord and on the other hand, the clubs in the subtop camp.

“I’m not for sitting, but occasionally I look to PSV. Yesterday, I also have a piece of the home match against AZ seen. They came on behind, but you need them not too early to applaud. They always get odds. They have enough quality up front,” said Blind.

“We find it nice if there is some pressure on us. Then we can quickly play and the footballing solution. De Jong and Schöne, you can always respond and they get it is always an option. We have a lot of work has been done. The build-up is our strongest point. There are not many teams that make us really solid.”

“We are on the hunt and I love it, however,’

PSV after the winter break on paper have the advantage that only the title plays, while Ajax is still active in the TOTO KNVB-cup (in the quarter-finals at home against sc Heerenveen) and the Champions League (in the eighth-finals against Real Madrid).

“I don’t know if that is a disadvantage. The one says yes and the other not. The guys that I here at Ajax about have spoken said that they had the last season not happy to be but one match in the week to play”, says Blind.

“We get a heavy program. But we wanted to be on all fronts in the race to stay and we need to be proud that we succeeded. We are on the hunt, and to be honest I keep there.”

Ajax will resume on Sunday, January 20, the league with a home match against sc Heerenveen (a number of days for the bekerconfrontatie between the two clubs) and a week later, on a visit to arch rival Feyenoord.

The team of trainer Erik ten Hag goes first between 5 and 12 January at the training camp to Florida, where the friendly matches are going to play against brazil’s Flamengo and São Paulo in the framework of the Florida Cup.
