Bible voted ‘most Important Book of the Netherlands’
The Bible, an edition in contemporary English (2004), has been voted the most Important Book of the Netherlands. On the second place is The Secret annex of Anne Frank ended.
In total, nearly 75,000 votes cast, reports the organization Friday.
To voters were asked which book they think that it is his or her world view has changed, or that he or she played a crucial role.
The election is part of 2016 Year of the Book, an initiative of the Royal Library, the Literary Museum, Stichting CPNB and Stichting Reading & Writing.
