Beurs van Berlage exhibition of work by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein
The Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam will have from 2 July to 30 september an exhibition of pop-art works of art by, among others, Andy Warhol and Keith Haring.
The exhibition The prints or Andy Warhol and other PopArtists consists of an extensive private collection of particularly silk-screen prints of Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring and other pop artists, which by mediaondernemer Lex Harding in the last decades are collected.
Pop art is an art movement at the beginning of the sixties of the last century. Warhol made in the period between 1960 and 1987, album art, posters, autographed books and other works on paper. A well-known work of Warhol is the banana on the cover of The Velvet Underground from 1967.
He also made in 1985 silkscreen prints of four different ruling queens, where princess Beatrix, and one of them was. During the exhibition are also ten original images of Beatrix exhibited. Also silk-screen prints of Marilyn Monroe, Mick Jagger and the Campell Soup are part of the exhibition.
The works are from 2 July to 30 september in the Beurs van Berlage.
