Former Rep. Beto O’rourke, D-Texas), said on Monday that as President he would require a “modest” tax on the citizens that for every new war as a part of his plan to the United States from the “infinite” conflicts overseas.
His “war tax” would be “progressive”, which means that you would require, and the rich more — deserve, in particular, the taxpayer over $200,000 to pay for a year $1,000 for every war, he said on his website. It funnels money would be created in a number of Veterans ‘ Health Care Trust Funds (VHCTF) — every time a war is started — for medical services, disability compensation and other programs for veterans.
Families with members or veterans of the armed forces would not have to pay the tax. It was unclear how much would be the cost of taxes, which the Americans in the lower income strata.
“Each new VHCTF would be paired with the adoption of the new war tax,” O’rourke. “This new tax would serve as a reminder of the incredible sacrifices made by those who serve them and their families.”

His plan involved developing a long list of measures to beef-up care for veterans and for an end to the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

On Twitter, O’rourke argued, the new “war tax” would be more difficult for politicians to, in new conflicts. “I will not only be the end of our wars, but I’ll make it more difficult politically for Washington to start new. We will implement will be triggered by a progressive tax, if a new war is started, exclusively to Finance the care of the future-veterans-never the war itself,” he said.
“If the politicians want to send our children, our parents, to explain to our neighbors in the fight, you should have to wear why each and every one of us would have, the cost of the war to follow,” he said in another tweet.
As part of its plan, the Congress passed after 9/11, called for an end to the authorization for use of Military force (AUMF), granting the Executive branch more leeway in the fight against terrorism.
“As President, I will ensure that, before the Land of another enters, in the war, we exhausted every single peaceful alternative,” O’rourke said.

His plan came as a fellow of the 2020 candidate and sen Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., stressed the need of “endless war.” In an op-ed from Monday, Sanders worried over the question of whether Trump would.the United States in the war with Iran

“I am very concerned that, whether intentionally or unintentionally, the Trump-government goes against Iran, and Iran moves in, the answer could get us into direct conflict,” he said.
House Democrats have already O ‘Rourke’ s proposal to remove the AUMF, the vote on Wednesday to repeal the law. Democrats in the Senate have pushed legislation that would try to restrict trump the ability to put himself in a conflict with Iran.
