O’rourke, who came to falls short in his bid, Sen. Cruz, R-Texas, to push, despite raising $80 million for the Senate, tells the story of his earthy snack in a spacious 3,000-word profile, published by The Washington Post.

The profile was published as O’rourke, together with other Democrats signaling its support for a number of controversial ideas, including the abolition of the Electoral College.
“I think there are many. Because you had a choice in 2016, where the loser got 3 million more votes than the winner,” O’rourke said in a video published online on Tuesday.
“It brings some of the States of the play as a whole, they feel like their votes really count.
To give “if we really want to vote everyone, you all reason to vote, we need to ensure that their votes count and go to the candidate of your choice. So I think it’s a lot of wisdom in it.”

O’rourke’s comments came a day after sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., pushed a similar proposal.
“Every voice matters, and the way we do, what happens is that we get rid of the national vote, and that means that, the Electoral College,” Warren told an audience at the historically black Jackson State University in Mississippi.

O’rourke, whose entry into the 2020 presidential race last week, was accompanied by huge media fanfare, the already rolling in campaign cash.
The 46-year-old reported raising a whopping $6.1 million online in the first 24 hours after its announcement, which set a new record for the year 2020 Democratic primary race.
“In just 24 hours, Americans across the country came together to prove that it is possible to run a true grassroots campaign for the presidency — a campaign of all of us, for all of us, the answers are not said to the PACs, corporations and special interests, but to the people,” O’rourke said in a statement.
