Ben & Jerry’s push Congress to eliminate before the marijuana convictions

The famous Vermont ice cream company, Ben & Jerry’s has a petition to Congress to ban before the marijuana convictions, and offer grace to someone whose only crime was the possession of the drug, according to their website.

She gave a statement on the petition Saturday with the title “This 4/20, Let’s be Blunt About Justice.”

“Between 2001 and 2010, there were over 8 million pot arrests (88 percent for possession). And in that time, a Black person was 3.73 times more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession than a white person,” the company said in a statement. “Since then, in states that have cannabis legalized, arrests, as you would expect, road done. Unfortunately, legalization is still nothing done to change the racial inequality.”

The ice giant is one of the first U.S. companies to publicly speak out in defense of the use of cannabis. They hope their platform of raising awareness on an issue that, given the increased bipartisan support each year, ” the statement said.

The former chairman of the House Jim Boehner is now a supporter and investor of a cannabis startup in Canada. Ben and Jerry ‘ s is determined in a time that he was “unalterably opposed” to legalizing pot.

The ice cream company also used social media to address issues of racial injustice when it comes to marijuana convictions. The post currently has almost 110,000 retweets and more than 230,000 likes.

Ben & Jerry’s states that cities like Baltimore are much longer prosecute marijuana possession cases, and in some cases are wiping old warrants and convictions, they want the rural policy.

“We call on the Congress to ban before the marijuana beliefs and offer pardon/amnesty to anyone whose only crime was possession of cannabis, and the company is called. “Cities like San Francisco and Seattle are already doing it. It is time to take this national.”

Last year Ben & Jerry’s hoped to take back the Congress by creating a Democrat, inspired by the flavors. They also spoke out against the Trump of government with a ‘Pecan Resist’ taste.

The petition currently has almost 30,000 signatures.
