Ben Affleck was spotted for the first time since entering rehab.
Ben Affleck was snapped at his Pacific Palisades properties on Wednesday, the first time he seen in public since he was taken to rehab by his estranged wife, Jennifer Garner, two weeks ago.
The 46-year-old actor was at home, but has not left treatment, ET has learned. Affleck is allowed to a few hours per day with him at home while in treatment, and is always accompanied by his sober coach and therapist.
Affleck casually dressed in a black hoodie, a pair of shorts and a white T-shirt, and the perception is already a noticeable improvement in the way in which he can be seen in photos of him on Aug. 22, also in his house, when he appeared visibly upset in the back seat of That car.

Garner rode her estranged husband to rehab in Malibu, marking his third stint in rehab. Throughout his career, the “Argo” director has been open about his problems with addiction, his first stint in rehab in 2001. A source tells ET Affleck has “to work intensively on themselves in a rehab.”
“It was an intense challenge, but he had no other choice,” the source says. “For Ben, this was a life-and-death situation. It was very urgent and that is the main reason that Jen had no choice.”
As for Affleck to be able to temporarily leave rehab to work out, the source says: “he believes that He is strong enough to venture outside the establishment with sober coaches.”
ET has reached Affleck’s rep.
A source earlier told ET that Affleck was on a “bender” before Garner drove him to a rehab. According to the source, a 46-year-old Garner — who split from Affleck in 2015 after 10 years of marriage — went to check on the father of her three children, and the actor “was in terrible condition.”
“Jen was incredibly concerned because Ben was making excuses for the lack of plans and rarely answering his phone in the week before he was in rehab,” the source said. “They know this pattern very well and was worried.”

“She went over to check on him, afraid of what she might find, and sure enough found him with empty bottles strewn about the house,” the source continues. “He reeked of alcohol and clearly had been on a kind of bender, and was in a terrible shape.”
Another source told ET that Affleck had fallen off the wagon when it comes to simplicity, but not for a lack of effort.
Ben Affleck’s Ex Lindsay Shookus Wanted Him to Go to Rehab Before Split: Source
“Ben gave it his all, but unfortunately he was not able to maintain a sober lifestyle,” the source stated. “We were all rooting for him, but his addiction got the best of him. He went from taking the steps that he needed in life to be the way back to his old ways and, for those of us who love him, it is terrible to see him lose the battle.”
“Ben’s real problem is that he still gets it done in the interest of everyone and now is the time for Ben to do it for himself,” the source added. “Ben has so much love and support and he is so strong. We have the belief he can again live a healthy life.”
