YUMA, Arizona. – Authorities say a Belgian parajumper died while training in the southwest of Arizona.
Officials with Marine Corps Air Station Yuma to say that the Belgian Special Operations Forces sought help late Tuesday to find the parajumper, whose name has not been released.
They say that the parajumper was located at about 2 pm, Wednesday in the area of the mcas Yuma Range and was already dead.
The body was taken to a Yuma hospital.
Navy officials that the death a “tragic accident”, but to say that the incident is being investigated.
Members of the Belgian Special Operations Forces usually are selected from the paracommando units of the Belgian Army.
They must have at least three years of experience in the military preferably as a paracommando — to join the Special Operations Forces.
