Belgian nuclear reactor doel 4 remains the rest of the year off

The Belgian nuclear reactor doel 4 will remain until the end of this year off. That made operator Engie Electrabel Saturday known.

The reactor was Friday, checked shut down after a pump in the non-nuclear part of the plant is ground to a halt due to a clogged filter.

Goal 4 was last week at the just linked. The central was this summer shut down due to betondegradatie in the ceiling of the bunkergebouw of the reactor.

Tuesday it was announced that two other reactors of the nuclear power plant to stay for a longer time off than was previously stated. Goal 1 continues until march 15, still in place until the end of January, Goal 2 until the end of January instead of in december.

The reactors are still for complex work. During an inspection of reactor 1 showed that something had to be done to the reservekoelwatersysteem. As a precaution, the system of reactor 2 is being addressed.
