Eclectischer than Dour you can find the festivals not more. For five days, walk the discoveries and established artists from all genres together for the feet. We did already make an attempt to selection.
Thursday, 13/7, The Last Arena
Colourful and (for now) one-off show that the budding hiphoptalent from our capital city unites, the most famous face of the coeneske appearance Roméo Elvis, live is one of the sensations of the past year. Buddy Caballero, who, together with Roméo the outstanding number recorded in which this project takes its name, is already one of the many guests. Humor, courage, and a contagious enthusiasm are constantly leapfrogging with this cheerful kettenbende. Faites gaffe Europe, BX arrive!
Thursday, 13/7, Jupiler Boombox
Her debut album Everybody Down, produced Kate Esther Calvert – Kate Tempest for the friends, a nomination for the Mercury Prize and also Let Them Eat Chaos, one year old, is more than excellent. Tempest is poëte, activist, writer and rapper, and combines all those roles into raw liveperformances, with the kind of anger that in the south of England, apparently in the groundwater is – think also The Streets.
Saturday 15/7, Lab
Beirut and Yann Tiersen have for the last decade even tried to put the accordion in the mainstream in smuggling, but this in Switzerland, raised Bosnian is the real deal. Do not think of traditional gypsy music, but to the intensity and epic nature of Jóhann Jóhannsson or the repetitive minimalism of Philip Glass. Releaste this year, his solo debut on the Invada label of Geoff Barrow (Portishead), a fan of the first hour. The quirky Batkovic should the man call that the accordion of the street to the undergroundclubs overhevelde.
It It Anita
Friday 14/7, Le Caverne
Who are the musics like hard and Belgian, with peace of hard in the direction of Dour draw. The festival put both the Liège troublemakers from Cocaine Piss, Brutus of girlboss Stefanie Mannaerts, the seething metal of Oathbreker, the dark mysticism of AmenRa as Tim Vanhamels Millionaire on the line-up. But why recommend what you already know, as well as many less known, but to love It It Anita the poster adorns? Sometimes accessible and even catchy, noisy, but always idiosyncratic and played as if the pedals in the advertisement were for one or other obscure Walloon muziekhandelaar.
Sunday 16/7, Le Labo
Croydon, one of the most notorious boroughs in London, gave us dubsteppioniers Benga and Skream. Later followed the grimebeweging, with Stormzy as a landmark. Today, this represents 24-year-old niece of Stormzy a new generation of female raptalenten from the UK. On her debut, Highly Flammable binds them fiery rhymes and dancehallvibes to earth-shaking basses that make your buttocks after a session of one hour even without moving cellulitisvrij. This energetic and cheerful dabbende opdondertje surprised already at the youngest Sonárfestival and decorated previously a place on the prestigious BBC Sound of 2017 list.
Friday 14/7, Jupiler Boombox
Pusha T was known when he Clipse and Re-Up started and again stopped with his brother No Malice, but it is now a thick decade alone. ‘Doing’ means for Terrence LeVarr Thornton: dark gangstarap, right from the Bronx. Two years ago cancelde he is scheduled to occur on Dour, but if the vibe is good, he can with material from his new album King Push, largely produced by Kanye West, ever go all the way in October.
Thursday, 13/7, Lab
What a voice!!! What an appearance! Sevdaliza is Sevda Alizadeh, an Iranian who is on her fifth with her family to the Netherlands, fled, and in her youth was a large basketbalbelofte (they played in the national youth squad). In recent years she discovered more of her artistic side. On her recently released debut album Ison does Sevda about everything an artist can do: write songs, sing, artwork, choreography, production, tag. The result is a sensuous r&b and trip-hop à la FKA Twigs and Portishead. Sensual, committed and edgy.
Who are music prefer opzwepender and chaotic, at the same time available in La Caverne for Cheveu & Group Doueh. For fans of Omar Souleyman and Goat.
Thursday, 13/7, The Last Arena
For many years she was for the average music lover to be little more than the little sister of Queen B, but since her last album, A Seat At The Table, we may Solange Knowles feel free to Princess’s call. Her r&b will remain forever and three days in the ear, hang up, without ever getting too smooth or too produced. Knowles junior is so in a few years the standard-bearer of a new generation of r&b and pop stars who can’t be bothered to walls to look around and see, because they without problems demolish.
The Gaslamp Killer
Saturday 15/7, Jupiler Boombox
An American Jew with roots in Lebanon, Lithuania, Turkey, and Mexico. A melting pot is he, William Benjamin Bensussen from LA, and it’s not his origin. Sitar, organs, strings, koorgezangen, creaking sound samples, grime and avant-garde electro: welcome to the bizarre realm of The Gaslamp Killer. A man who podiumnaam owes to the fact that he clubfeestjes completely dropped out with crazy dj sets. Unpredictable yes, but always influential – because of his dare called Netsky him as his favourite dj. Another Belgian fan is Lefto, who afterwards the chunks may try to glue it, as the valve in the Jupiler Boombox.
Sunday 16/7, La Petite Maison dans La Prairie
In 2014 made the world acquainted with the pumping music of Young Fathers when the band the Mercury Prize, won for her debut, Dead and in one year 140 shows played. A year later, White Men Are Black Men Too, a new load of white-hot songs with hiphopinvloeden. We guess it’s like that Only God Knows, their track the heart rate of the Trainspotting-sequel, the festival itself at its very foundations will shake that mr. Richter are scale post-mortem will need to adjust.
