Belgian jury of eight Dutch citizen guilty of killing landlord
A Belgian volksjury has the Amsterdammer Robert K. declared guilty killing his landlord.
The sixty-year old Dutchman had the crime already known.
K. killed his 54-year-old landlord from the village of Belgium, near the Dutch border in Limburg, in april 2013, with 29 knife wounds and six blows. The two had a conflict over money and a marijuana plantation.
“I have him killed, but I haven’t deliberately killed,” said the defendant Thursday in the assize court in Tongeren. The prosecutor is convinced that the murder and called it “completely absurd” that K. claims not to have wanted to kill. According to the jury, however, was no question of premeditated.
The jury discusses Friday the penalties. “I can understand that I am severely punished”, said K.
