The Belgian composer Jacques Leduc is Wednesday at the age of 84 died.
Jacques Leduc, who, in 2001, king Albert II to knight was appointed, composed around fifty works, including the concerto for the international Queen elizabeth Competition in 1972. He is following Tuesday buried.
Leduc filled during his career in addition to his componistschap also a whole range of other functions. He was director of the music Academy of Uccle, a lecturer at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and rector of the Queen Elisabeth Music chapel. He was also chairman of auteursrechtenvereniging SABAM and of the Union of Belgian Composers. (Belga)
