BBC gets criticism on the choice for a female Doctor in Doctor Who series
Some fans of the Dr series. Who are deeply disappointed in the BBC after the station announced that actress Jodie Whittaker, the role of the famous Doctor will take. It is the first time that a woman is the role played by the character.
The character of the Doctor traveling through time and solves or prevents problems. Newspaper The Daily Mirror collected a set of angry comments on the announcement.
“He is a Time Lord, a man so. No woman”, responded to a fan on Twitter. Other fans say that they no longer will look and dissatisfied with the choice for Whittaker.
The actress says it’s an honor to find the lead role to play in the legendary British tv-series. “Not only as an actor but also as a feminist, a wife, and a person who likes to challenge to understand that which others say it can’t,” she stated.
She got acclaim from other viewers that the step of the BBC properly appreciated. “For every seksist that is no longer watching there will be a young girl who has a new heroine” tweeted a fan. Jodie Whittaker replaces actor Peter Capaldi from Christmas to the new Doctor.
