Bayern chairman Rummenigge surprised by the decision Lahm
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was surprised by the decision of Philipp Lahm after this season to stop as a player and not get started as a technical director of the German football club.
“President Uli Hoeness and I have in recent months open, intensive and constructive talks with Lahm on the position of technical director at our club,” writes Rummenigge in a statement on the website of Bayern.
“At the end of last week, he asked us that he is not available at this time for such a position and that he would like an early end to his contract. We went there from that a joint declaration would come on behalf of Lahm and Bayern.”
Lahm came Tuesday with the news that he isn’t going to be until mid 2018 ongoing commitment to serve. “Starting next summer, here I am no longer in the service,” said Lahm after the 1-0 won in cup match against VfL Wolfsburg.
“We will see what the future brings. Wait for me here a few months and I hope it’s very successful.”
Rummenigge in similar words. “Philipp is already a more than a decade, is a key player for Bayern. We are convinced that our captain is now fully on the team will be focused. We want to make it clear that the door at Bayern is always open will continue to stand for Philipp.”
Lahm would be a job as a director provided, without a place to take in the day to day management. That would be the reason that the 113-fold international of Germany does not pull in a desk job at the Allianz Arena.
Matthias Sammer was until last year, technical director at Bayern and did have a seat on the board of directors. Since his departure there is a vacancy, for which Lahm as droomkandidaat gold at the forefront of the Bundesliga.
The 33-year-old Lahm played as yet less than 501 matches in the shirt of Bayern, which the fullback seven times won the national championship and six times the German cup won. In addition, he won the Champions League in 2013.
A year later, if Lahm as the captain of “die Mannschaft” when first the world cup lifting the global title in Brazil.
