Bartho Braat and Jette van der Meij in the theater
Bartho Braat (66), and Jette van der Meij (62) from march together on the stage in the new Dutch play Gare de Lyon. The piece is about two lovers who meet each other after thirty years of meet with you again.
The performance of the director Ad de Bont experienced last year a number of try-outs in the Entire Theatre in Amsterdam and has recently been made suitable for larger venues.
The story begins in Paris in 1942. There take two young lovers at the Gare de Lyon farewell of each other. At the end of the war, they hope each other at the same station in Paris again to meet. But the life is different.
Only thirty years later, they see each other as married people back. The reunion is emotional, and it finally becomes clear why they separated for so long remained.
The performance is from 3 march to 18 may in the Netherlands. The premiere is Saturday, march 18, at the DeLaMar Theater in Amsterdam.
Braat and Van der Meij played for years together in the Dutch soap opera Good Times, Bad Times.
