Barbara Bush says in the magazine that she “still old,” and in the love

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Former First Lady Barbara Bush is sure that her alma mater is up-to-date about what is happening in her world.

The Boston Globe reported Thursday that Bush wrote a dispatch to Smith College alumnae magazine of this month to say that they are “still old, and still in love with the man I married 72 years ago.”

Bush went from Smith in 1944 and was married to George H. W. Bush shortly after. The school awarded her an honorary doctorate in 1989.

Bush says in the magazine that all her children are working and “serving others in their own way.” She says that she is “very proud of them.”

Bush has sent occasional updates to the alumnae publication goes back to 1953, when he reported that her second son, Jeb, was born.
