HOUSTON – Houston police are looking for three men involved in the shooting of a 10-month-old baby boy. The baby was shot while his father took him for a walk at a southwest Houston apartment complex at approximately 1:30 pm on Wednesday.
“A father with his son out of his apartment, taking the child for a walk,” said Houston Police Department homicide Sgt. Mark Holbrook. “He runs outside and sees three black men approaching.”
One of the men, described as being in his 20s and wearing a white T-shirt, and began to shoot at the father, who walked into a supermarket just across the street from his apartment complex.
The police is now trying to find the three men and are asking anyone with information to contact the HPD homicide division or Crime Stoppers.
“We would like to hear what you have to say about this,” Holbrook said. “If you’re involved in this, we definitely would like to hear from you to know if you intentionally kill a year or this was just an accident. But I need to know what it is.”
“You can run, but you can’t hide,” said Khalilah Lewis, the baby’s aunt. “Believe me, you’re going to get caught.”
“If you are a real man you are not going to run and shoot is no child or no parent, while they love their child,” said Jawan Wilson, the baby’s grandmother.
Police say the father told them that he did not know that the men and has no idea why they shoot at him or his son.
