In response to Avenatti, the attacks on his law firm, another partner at Larson O’brien LLP, Steven Bledsoe, said simply: “the forgery of documents and theft of customer funds is a political issue.”

Federal prosecutors in California charged that Barela-called settlement “to pay for $1.6 million in settlement money on January 10, 2018,” but Avenatti gave Barela a “pseudo-agreement” with an incorrect due date of March 10, 2018.
