Australian police arrest man for sending suspicious packages

The Australian police Wednesday, a 48-year-old man from Shepparton arrested on suspicion of sending suspicious packages to several consulates and embassies in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney.

Earlier on Wednesday, multiple suspicious packages found at diplomatic institutions in different Australian cities. A number of might contain asbestos, a building material with carcinogenic properties.

The content of the packages is still under investigation. There are no reports of damage to the health of staff members. According to the police, the packages are put together in the house of the man.

According to the Australian federal police (AFP) would be the man in a total of 38 packets were sent. The authorities have 29 packages found, but the police in a statement to let you know that there is no further threat exists.

The defendant is indicted and will on Thursday appear before the court.
