An auction of a part of the art collection of George Michael at auction house Christies in London for over 10 million euros raised.
The avondveiling went online, more than 12,000 visitors from 27 different countries, in addition to the bidders at Christies in London and New York. Almost a quarter of the bidders were new to the auction house.
All inserted pieces were Thursday evening sold. The onlineveiling continues until Friday afternoon. Then the totaalopbrengst published.
The money is used to continue the philanthropic work of British singer and songwriter, who on christmas day 2016 died.
The art collection of George Michael represents a treasure trove of works of art of the so-called YBA (Young British Artists, young British artists), whose work he deeply admired and with whom he has a strong bond built up.
