Attacks of 11 september in New York and Washington, commemorated
In the United States, Sunday the september 11 attacks commemorated in New York, Washington and Shanksville.
It’s been 15 years ago that terrorists with hijacked airplanes against the towers of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington flew. A fourth plane crashed in Pennsylvania.
The attacks of september 11, 2001 cost almost three thousand lives. The attacks were the largest terrorist attack on American soil.
At Ground Zero, the place where the twin towers of the World Trade Center stood, is Sunday a minute’s silence will be observed. Then was the vrijheidsklok sound and the names of the victims listed.
President Barack Obama speaks Sunday at the memorial service for the Pentagon. At the ceremony in New York presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. There are many relatives of the victims present.
As expected, there are also hundreds of people at the commemoration at the national monument Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
